Columnist and blogger at the newspaper Les Affaires, René Vézina has over 30 years of experience in journalism. He led the magazine Revue Commerce and hosted the show Finances for three years on the TVA network.
René Vézina graduated from Université Laval in journalism and political science. He began his career in radio and television journalism in 1977 at Radio-Canada in Gaspésie before transferring to the national network in Montreal. He then turned to scientific journalism which led him to specialize in the economic field.
Today, he is still involved in digital media. He intervenes daily on the radio at 98,5 FM in Montreal and regularly at CHOI FM in Québec. He also appears on RDI every Friday.
René Vézina has recently published the guide Comment parler aux medias (How to speak to the media) at Éditions Transcontinental and he is often invited to host or speak at forums or seminars on socioeconomic issues (over 30 since the beginning of 2009!)
A crisis does not necessarily impacts equally: stronger organizations are often better positioned than weaker ones. In this regard, Québec has relatively been spared compared to the United States and the rest of Canada. Marcel Côté is a founding partner of SECOR Consulting. Over his 30-year career as a consultant, he has specialized in strategy consulting for senior management both in Canada and in France.
Mr. Côté holds a Master’s degree in economics from Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, PA) and is a Fellow of the Center for International Affairs, Harvard University. He taught at the Université de Sherbrooke and the Université du Québec à Montréal, before co-founding SECOR in 1975. Today Mr. Côté advises top-management teams on strategic issues. He provided support for many change initiatives at a number of large Canadian and European corporations, and acted as an advisor for business transactions and restructuring.
Mr. Côté is also known for his work on economic growth policies, a subject on which he has written several books. Over the course of his career Mr. Côté has also advised both levels of government. From 1986 to 1988, he was economic advisor to the Prime Minister of Quebec. In 1989 and 1990, he was Director of Strategic Planning and Communication in the Prime Minister’s Office in Ottawa.
He sits on the Board of Directors of ING Canada and Empire Ltd., and is also very active in Montreal community organizations, particularly at the YMCA, the Compagnie de danse Marie Chouinard, the Foundation of Greater Montreal and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.

He joined Havas Conseil (now known as Euro RSCG) in 1977 and was appointed associate director of this groupe Havas division, French leader in publishing and multimedia. In 1986, he joined Young & Rubicam as development manager of the Paris division. From 1988 to 1990, he was general manager of BDDP (Boulet, Dru, Dupuy, Petit – now TBWA), a consulting agency in communication and advertising. Until 1995, he was general manager of Young & Rubicam Groupe France.
M. Roubert graduated from ESSEC (École Supérieure des Sciences Économiques et Commerciales), one of the best schools of commerce and management in Europe, located in Paris.
