Eligibility
Montreal Commercial Urban integration
All initiatives held between November 1, 2005 and June 15, 2008
with the purpose of revitalizing a commercial artery through design and urban development (urban fixtures, temporary and permanent facilities, architecture, lighting, etc.)
Business Category
Businesses that were renovated or re-imaged between November 1, 2005 and June
15, 2008 (work completed) with the help of qualified professionals in interior design and/or architecture.
The contest is intended primarily for Montreal businesses developed by professionals established in Quebec. However, two prizes recognize the quality of the layout of businesses established outside of Montreal and outside of Canada but developed by professionals established in Quebec.
CHAINS AND BRANDS CATEGORY
Many businesses belonging to the same chain or several franchises operated under the same banner can participate in the contest. A form must be duly completed for each establishment entered.
The contest is open to all types of businesses;
pet shop, bar, gift shop, sporting goods shop, shoe boutique, telephony services boutique, clothing boutique, café, reprographic printing shop, movie theatre, car dealer, shoe repair shop, convenience store (dépanneur), grocery store, food court, mall, hotel, bookstore, optical shop, electronics store, music store, movie rental location, furniture store, dry cleaner, pharmacy, hardware store, restaurant, beauty salon, hair salon, funeral home, spa, gas station, etc.
OFFICE DESIGN CATEGORY
Offices that were renovated or re-imaged between November 1, 2005 and June 15, 2008 (work completed) with the help of qualified professionals in interior design and/or architecture. Offices of professional services such as advertising agencies, dentists, lawyers, learning institutions, daycares, etc. are eligible.
PROJECT NEVER MATERIALIZED
Project realised by a student OR a professional but never materialized. A form must be duly completed for each project entered.

Responsability
By submitting a project, the contact person recognizes and accepts that the jury deliberations are confidential and that all decisions are final and without appeal.
Statement on copyright royalties: the candidate certifies having received all authorizations or releases regarding the constituents and subjects of the project submitted for the Créativité Montréal contest and that he/she is the creator (or is in possession of the creator’s agreement) of the project submitted.
Participants authorize Communication Design Montréal and les Éditions Infopresse to use the material provided for any publication related to the results of the contest on the Créativité Montréal website, in the Infopresse and Grafika magazines, as a promotional tool, as a journalistic report in any other publication and to represent or otherwise distribute, regardless of the means used, the documents contained in the file of entries.
Jury
The jury is made up of experts in the fields of architecture, interior design, industrial design or communications (marketing communications or graphic communications).
If the jury deems it necessary, a project may be evaluated in other categories than the one/s initially indicated on the entry form. The jury also reserves the right to modify or regroup certain categories.
The members of the jury cannot take part in the contest Créativité Montréal - Design de commerce.
Assessment criteria for candidacies
• Appearance of building
• Creativity, innovation
• Functionality and safety of premises
• Appearance of façade and graphic quality of signage
• Quality of signage; functionality and appearance
• Quality of window display
• Harmony between the interior and the exterior
• Maintenance of premises
• Design performance according to budget
• Design performance according to the vocation of the business
• Adequacy of design according to target clientele
• Design performance according to the neighbourhood
• Impact on the revitalization of the neighbourhood
• Design performance according to the history of the business (restoration of a space, re-imaging, etc.)
