Newly arrived on Saint-Laurent Boulevard, Galerie-Co took advantage of the World Fair Trade Day on May 10th to inaugurate its new gallery boutique. The shop carries environmentally friendly furniture and items from all over the world, in some cases, as the exclusive distributor for Quebec or Canada.
Owner Sarah Richardson is a lawyer who specializes in environmental issues, and her many business trips allow her to discover original creations by designers and communities who use environmentally friendly practises and materials.
Galerie-Co's selection of sustainable creativity includes bags made of old safety belts from London, by Ting; vases created from electrical wire by Heath Nash in South Africa; cardboard furniture from the Milanese collective A4A Design; and wooden USB keys from the Dutch studio Oooms.
