With the intention of taking the dreariness out of meetings and rendering them more effective, these rather comfortable chairs designed by the Sid Lee Collective are one of the most exciting discoveries of the 2008 SIDIM.
Inspired and designed by Louis-Thomas Pelletier, design manager, and Gabrielle Saint-Pierre, industrial designer, the SUCC chairs (Slightly Uncomfortable Chair Collection) constitute an amusing and effective answer to those never-ending meetings.
This first collection, still in the prototype stage, comprises six chairs: Rockoco, Wallet Factor, Talking Head, Gottago, Space Invader and Sugar Fix. The stand on which they were presented at the SIDIM was a production from Étienne Hotte.
Made of wood and varnished with a glossy black plastic finish, the chairs received great reviews from the show's guests. They should be available this fall at the Sid Lee shop in Amsterdam.
