The exhibition was held in a loft in the heart of Queen Street West (a short distance from where the terrible fire broke out the night before the opening).
There were more than 70 creations, furniture, lamps and accessories, as well as more artistic works and experiments with materials, forms and the Canadian identity.
Most of the designers exhibiting were from Toronto, although there were ceramics by Quebecer Pascale Girardin. Radiant Dark featured both young and not-so-young designers; some of them were beginners while others were well-established talents.
Open since 2006, Made Boutique's mission is to highlight Canadian design. The presence of this exhibition at the same time as the show, alongside Hotel Gladstone's Come Up To My Room, is evidence that the Toronto community can get organized and successfully create a small but rich circuit outside of IDS.
