The 2007 Great Indoors awards have been bestowed on businesses with spectacular interior design.

This international contest, organized in Holland by the magazine Frame, awards projects in five categories including one for firm of the year.

The Japanese agency Wonderwall received this honour. It's thanks to this company that many of the most dazzling businesses in Japan exist. In terms of stores, competition and crazy ideas weren't lacking.

Zaha Hadid, Heatherwick Studios, Ryuji Nakamura Architects and Item Idem were also honoured for one of their projects in the four other categories.

The jury consisted of Rolf Fehlbaum (PDG de Vitra), Renny Ramakers (cofounder and director of Droog Design), Andrej Kupetz (director of the German council of design and of the Zollverein School), Claus Sendlinger (CEO Design Hotels AG) and Wiel Arets (architect et founder of Wiel Arets Architects).

More than just awards, the Great Indoors is a biennial interior design show that encompasses conferences and workshops. This year it took place on November 17 and 18 in Maastricht in the Netherlands.
